Events/Programs

These are the regular and special events and programs normally held throughout the year at the ABC Hall:

  • Line Dancing – Provides an opportunity for seniors to socialize and get active.  Nominal fees cover the instructor’s honorarium. A great way to get a fun workout.  There are many benefits to line dancing including a social activity that doesn’t require a partner; brain stimulation; improves focus and concentration; improves balance; burns calories; tones muscles; relieves stress; improves coordination; total body and cardio workout; strengthens neural pathways and improves cognitive health; and, lifts the spirit and soothes the soul.
  • Mahjongg – is a fascinating rummy-like game played with tiles rather than cards. The game orginated in China, dating back to the time of Confucius. Teams play both American and Chinese Mahjongg games. Everyone is welcome, come out for fun and laughter. A nominal fee of $5 goes toward upkeep of the Hall.
  • CPHC Senior Exercise Class – Getting seniors active in our community. Low impact aerobics to strengthen and tone muscles, and improve lung and heart functioning. For classes, bring running shoes, hand weights (if you have them), comfortable clothing and water. In addition to free classes for all participants, the ABC Hall happily provides free rental space for this event.
  • Musicians Circle – All musicians welcome and all genres of music (country, jazz, blues, folk, easy listening, blue grass, etc.) There is no audience, giving musicians an opportunity to network, to learn new material and to play along with others in a relaxed setting. Nominal fee of $5 goes toward upkeep of the Hall.
  • Wellness Seminars – free presentations on health and wellness-related topics, delivered by local experts. Snacks provided.  We welcome community input on topics of interest.
