ABC Hall Will Be Retrofitted This Spring, Thanks to Trillium Grant

 Friends and Neighbours,

We are now a couple of weeks into 2015 and winter’s claw has taken hold for a little while. Activity at the ABC Hall has naturally slowed for the months of January and February but that will change with the coming of spring – hopefully an early one.

This year is shaping up to be a milestone for the ABC Hall and ABCA with the Trillium Grant-funded exterior upgrades to begin in the spring. To date the grant money has made possible the purchase of much needed new tables and chairs as well as an efficient propane furnace replacing the outdated and more costly oil furnace.

It is my pleasure to announce that the well established and much respected John Riley Construction has been awarded the contract to install the exterior vinyl siding and R10 insulation as well as the timber frame entrance canopy – all within budget – which will geatly improve the ABC Hall’s functionality and ‘curb appeal’.

Also within budget will be the purchase of media equipment to facilitate the presentation of movies, images and graphics thus opening up the potential for hall rentals to local groups for meetings and small conferences as well as ABCA related events.

Our sincere thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation www.otf.ca for investing in our community.

As ABCA President, along with the committed and proactive group of individuals who comprise the Board of Directors, I can see a renewed potential and bright future for ABCA and the ABC Hall. This is only possible, of course, with the support of the community and participation of volunteers so I urge community members to visit the website www.abchall.ca regularly for upcoming activities and to become an active volunteer.

 Sincerely,

Mike Erion
